There was a time when speaking in a room with even four people made me nervous.
So, standing on a stage in front of nearly 400 people and moderating a panel discussion at the BKP Conclave felt like a very personal milestone.
The panel was titled “1% to Limitless: Rise of Women in Real Estate,” and I had the privilege of sharing the stage with six incredibly inspiring women from the industry:
1. Shweta Jayakar - Luxarea 2. Jaini Vora- Dipesh H. Vora Estate Agent 3. Suhani Narain- Narains Corporate Real Estate 4. Bela Shah- Ekashaa Realty 5. Neha Agarwal- Openminds 6. Nayna Mehta- Mehta Estate Agency
Each of them brought a different story, perspective and experience to the conversation. While my role was to guide the discussion, I walked away having learnt so much from them myself.
I was probably the least experienced person on that stage, and initially, that made me nervous. But it also reminded me that being the least experienced person in the room does not mean you do not belong there. Sometimes, it simply means you have the most to learn.
Before stepping onto the stage, I questioned whether I would remember everything I had prepared or be able to hold the audience’s attention. But once the conversation began, the nervousness slowly turned into excitement.
For everyone watching, it may have been one panel discussion. For me, it was proof of how far I had come.
From hesitating to speak in front of four people to holding a microphone in front of nearly 400, the experience showed me that growth often happens quietly. You may not notice it every day, but one day, you find yourself doing something an earlier version of you would never have imagined.

This experience did not take away all my nervousness, but it taught me that confidence does not always come before the opportunity.
Sometimes, you step onto the stage while you are still nervous, and confidence finds you there.
